Sometimes I wish they had made a sequel. A 2nd Ultimate Spider-Man video game maybe having Miles Morales as the MC simply because I remember that he's actually the 2nd Ultimate Spider-Man.

So far some of the races are pretty tricky and hard to complete. Especially most of the Venom races.

I found out that both in the Ultimate Spider-Man video game and the comics Beetle in the Ultimate Universe works for Doctor Doom. It's also been shown in the concept art of the game but for some reason it wasn't included in the main story. And sadly I have no idea what Doctor Doom wanted Beetle to get the Venom suit.

This is my personal favorite game of all time. And the Ultimate comics as well has been my childhood favorite. I actually have the Ultimate Spider-Man video game for the Nintendo GameCube version.

I've played this game like 5 times over like a 20 year span.. never have beat it once.. boredom always sets in while maxing my digimon well beyond what is needed to beat the game.

I had this game as a kid, I was still learning how to read so I didn't know what 80% of the words meant. I didn't understand the goal of the game. I barely understand video games in general. All I knew was I liked Digimon and this game gave me such a sense of wonder and discovery because I knew there was more to it for me to explore. Also my limited view of video games made me think videogames were much bigger than they were, containing whole worlds inside them. I fumbled through the early parts of this game, pressing buttons almost randomly and stumbling upon button combinations that allowed me to see something new I haven't before. I don't know how far into the game I got, couldn't have been too deep.

while I don't think this is a good game by any stretch of the imagination, I do think it's honestly not as bad as some people portray it if you're willing to play through it with a document at your side that explains what each digimon has/what each tech does/etc does and are proactive with making use of everything the game offers you taking advantage of getting multiple metal greymons early on for access to horn buster/dna fodder, doing trades whenever they come available (magna angemon is ridiculous with the 150 hp party heal and megadramon is great for DNA fodder to raise level cap), and then rushing for kunemon/penguinmon as soon as you can, to get into kuwagamon/okuwagamon and whamon for (duo)scissor claw and tidal wave respectively, at which point you're free to just do whatever game is still super grindy at its core, but it definitely helps cut down on it to make it a much more reasonable completion time relative to many other jrpgs

They should have had the original digimon song that makes this whole franchise popular. Di di di digimon

Digimon Rumble Arena 2 is better😊

GR1 was the reason i bought a vita and GR2 was the reason I got a PS4. I even bought remastered. This game made some questionable decisions but I despite them I love this game. I also really enjoy the side quests. The characters are one of the games strengths and those lean onto them. It really is a charming game. I really wish this series took off.

As a kid, Digimon World 2 was my favorite even over the OG Digimon World, and still feel that way, despite its issues. Maybe its just the hyperfixation, or maybe I'm just a bit of a masochist, but I just loved the majority of the game. To this day I still really enjoy it, and I'd love to see a remake of it fixing up some of the pain points via how Cyber Sleuth handles some things maybe.

I played Part 1 back in the day on the PS Vita. It was the only game I really liked on the system. A couple of years later I realized it existed on PS4 and that there was a part 2! Ofc I played both and I'm quite disappointed that the chances for a part 3 are so low. Especially on the PS5 it would be possible to make Kat fall faster due to the faster loading times.

Metroid Prime 3: Halo

The way you feel about lttp is the was I felt about the entire series. I actually almost dreaded getting into BotW but there was no way I wasn’t going to play it because it’s Zelda. So glad I did and I really appreciate the numerous “bite-sized” dungeons instead

the worst game in the original PS1 series, but probably a guilty pleasure of mine (only on emulator though, on PS1 it's a nightmare).

Funny how I literally found both the remaster of GR1 and and GR2 in a gamestop. Picked up both on a whim, and they ended up becomming one of my favorites.

The untimely death of online services made my first playthrough (literally a month after it ended) a sad experience, since certain cosmetics are locked behind online. If and/or when a re-release comes out, I am pre-ordering it this time. Also, this was a really well written review. I could not agree nor disagree more with your points.

I played too much of this game so much that I memorized all evolution paths and their stat/special requirements. I love this game even more so than their most recent one that has the same shite, which sucks. If you can't beat this game without any guide the first time, you suck.

So I recently started playing this for the first time since childhood on my emulator... ...I got Pixiemon by completed accident while I was on my way to recruit Vegiemon 😂 It took pretty much every recovery item I had, but I beat him first time with my Monochromon! And yes...I may have save stated because I was not about to spend hours praying for that 3% chance to happen again 😂

With all of its faults, it is still a good game.

Ehhh that’s bit of an L take on Super Sonic. The super form is meant to be a reward for a skilled player. He handles differently but he’s also able to run the levels differently. You’re complaining about an optional risk-reward feature and it kinda sounds like you just need to get better to appreciate it, similar to an FS game.

if you think calling the X button the "cross button" is bad, my cousin used to call the square button the "box button". but yes, calling it cross is ridiculous.

Now imagine 7 year old me learning all this on the go without internet. Took me months to figure out how to leave Digital City haha! Loved this game eventually, one of the longest I played as a kid.

I loved playing this game on PS2. I got an Xbox 360 last year. I've been playing with my brothers, and we finally finished it last night, and it still holds up to me for the most part. It sucks that the gold edition costs a fortune now lol. One of my brothers really wanted to play as Hulk. I guess I'll try to get it sometime in the future. Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Shrek 2 always reminded me of each other since they're both 4-player co-op games.

I remember it took forever for me to get my first mega evolution, like well over 100 hours of gameplay across 3 or 4 different new starts. I distinctly recall that I beat Garurumon the second time with a rather powerful Kabuterimon. After the battle ended, there was that short freeze and I thought "Welp, he dead." - To my surprise, he actually evolved into Hercules Kabuterimon. That boy was strong as fuck, but I stopped playing shortly after he died of old age, probably around 45 prosperity. The game is stupidly complex in how it deals with evolutions: there's all the visible stats, then there's the stats you don't have as numbers (discipline and happiness), care mistakes (which resets after evolutions) and virus (16 poops out of a bathroom = instant sukamon), and the number of battles fought. After I learned that even baby mons would evolve straight into Sukamon, I'd often keep track of the poop and keep it at 15, so that when he died, the baby would become a suka in no time, which made the immediate training afterwards much faster and the halving of all attributes nothing to worry about.

I played Digimon World 2 a lot, but it was a purchase I made "by mistake", since when I went out to buy, I was out to get the first game and wasn't aware a sequel was already out. The infinite knowledge of my then 11 years old brain thought "it certainly must be better than the first". That was a very grave mistake. I was expecting DW1, but better, and it turned out to be, well, *nothing* like that. It felt like they took everything that made pokemon boring and made it worse. I don't think I've ever got past the 5th dungeon. All the traps and gotchas and other nonsense was just infuriating. The funny thing is that, looking back at it now, you can see a lot of similarities with the more brutal roguelike dungeon crawlers of today. Lots of trial and error, lots of grind for permanent bonuses like higher level cap and a way to deal with some traps. It might be worth trying it out again, though not without the benefits of an emulated fast forward at least.
